Pretty in Pink

Hello there friends. Time for another poke around someone elses charming abode. Come along, won't you?

Today I bring you some bright and fresh photos of designer Kirsten Voortman's Amsterdam digs. If I were single, I would have more bright pink in my house - just about as much as Kirsten has. I try to keep the girly quotient under control because my husband is atmospherically minded and won't keep his opinion to himself when the florals or feminine elements begin creeping in the house more than he might like. But back to pink.

Don't you love the way she incorporates it ? It's just enough I think. (and isn't her pup sweet?)

P.S. Her place is available for a house swap - like that movie The Holiday. What are the odds that Jude Law is her brother and will show up at the door? (not a huge Jude fan, but what can I say, I liked him in that movie.)

It's a beautiful sunny day in my neck of the woods and things are fine. I've already enjoyed an estate sale and coffee with friends and the rest of the weekend includes a trip to the farmer's market and brunch. It will be nice indeed. What are your weekend plans? Any Ferris wheel rides or popsicles in your future? I certainly hope so...

Sunny & Bright: Nick and Sarah's Wedding Board

Sunday afternoon was my sister-in-law's wedding and a lovely wedding it was. I've been working with Sarah, the bride, for several months to create a fun but sophisticated aesthetic for her big day. We chose citrus colors with pops of black and white. Tissue poms in three different sizes and gobs of milk glass scored at thrift stores and estate sales added whimsy and texture. I used masses of yellow carnations, white and yellow daises with chartreuse green centers and callas and orchids for Sarah's bouquet. French tulips hung in glass globes amidst the poms where the couple said their vows and in her hair Sarah wore a ruffled off-white flower with a vintage rhinestone center that I made for her. I'm looking forward to seeing the real photos taking by the sassy and creative Jessica Valle. Stay tuned for those beauties...
