Friday Finds: It's the Little Things

Imagine my surprise while at JoAnn Fabric, when I came across these completely lovely, 50% off eggs near the check-out counter. The colors seemed too good to be true. I'm used to those neon shades of shiny plastic everywhere, but these were so nice and soft and they came in earthy little paper mache cartons. For $2.50 a carton, I'm thinking I should go back and get a few more.

Which reminds me, have you heard of the "Easter Egger" chicken? They actually lay pastel colored eggs. I know! Once I get my "bit of earth" (see Wednesday post below) perhaps I will have to look into getting an Easter Egger or two!

  3. Ooooh, the Secret Garden! Wednesday's post stirred up the desire to watch that old movie. So charming, we all need a bit of earth! :)

Love the eggs. So pretty. Also love your coral bowl. Very springy and cheery.

  5. Emily, I thought it was a joke, but my goodness it's for real! (it's just the sort of thing I would fall for and feel really silly!)
Wish my ladies laid pastel eggs. Can't complain - they still taste good. And always amazed how clean they are when they pop out - straight out of a chickens bum and so beautiful!
    right, stopping now...fee x

  6. must just also add that I mentioned these chickens in passing and my OH (also initially cynical) and he is now reading out Easter Egger chicken facts to me!
He is OB SES SED with our hens...wish I'd never mentioned these!
(did you know the most popular Easter Egger is the lavender which lays green eggs???)
